I went to Side Pie for the first time on Saturday after a hike in Eaton Canyon. It was unbelievable, perfect pizza. So sad to see it is gone. I'll be awaiting reopening day, however long it takes. Sending love.

Phenomenal pizza, ingredients, staff, and vibes. I really appreciate that Side Pie has long been serving a reliable wood oven fired pie in their unique space with a chill backyard patio. Unlike the sterile copy paste gastro restaurant aesthetics that have brought us the most boring spaces imaginable, this spot opted for nostalgic colorful 70s/ 80s metal picnic tables in their cute backyard, it feels cozy and warm like finally getting to run out to school recess. No wonder we see so many types of families enjoying a quality slice to well curated tunes - usually jam bands, funk, iron maiden, and whatever the pizza makers are enjoying that night. I also love their use of mosaic tiles and little store with beers, actually GOOD non alcoholic beers, and unique drink selections, plus gifts for home chefs (fancy olive oils and jams and such). Tl/dr Pizza really good! Dining in backyard, special treat

Amazing. Best pizza in Pasadena/Altadena hands down. I've tried them all, maybe Prince St. is second, or Prime. Side Pie is the best though. The vibes are great too; cool shirts!

A friend told me about this place and we tried it last night. The meatballs were delicious 4 for $15 and we got the kale pizza which was super delicious a with a thin and tasty crust. Lots of drink options, but we went with the complimentary cold water outside. You'll order at the desk and go outside and down the alley to the Biergarten in the back. Great food and a small selection of items in the marketplace.

My second review for this hot pizza spot. Tried Murphy's Green with a Pilsner and added on a 1/2 priced chocolate croissant. The pesto is well balanced not too salty or robust. The mushrooms are layered in the cheese and I can't get enough of the wood fired flavor!!! The pizza is so light and thin I devour it easily. Until my next visit up lake I can't wait for another taste.

We just moved up the street from Side Pie and have ordered it several weekend in a row! Typically, we order online and walk down to pick it up. I've seen some negative reviews about a long wait time to get your pizza, but we haven't experienced that. Maybe 15 minutes of wait time once we arrive, but we're happy to hang out inside or step outside and enjoy the mountain view and fresh air of Altadena. There's no harm in slowing down and enjoying the process of getting freshly made pizza from a true pizza oven. The crust is SUPER thin sourdough, which I love because I can eat a lot of slices without feeling heavy/greasy afterward. The pizza is definitely best fresh! So I would recommend eating it there in the patio area or only taking it home if you live very close. I'm a little floored by some of the negative reviews - if the pizza is a little burnt or comes out wrong, just tell them! They are incredibly accommodating and they are a very small operation doing their best to serve large customer base.
